I am from Poughkeepsie, NY. I graduated from Springfield College in May of 2017 where I majored in Physical Education and had a minor in Adventure Education. During my time at Springfield I was very involved on the campus with extracurricular activities. I was a New Student Orientation leader, Leadership Summit Chair, worked at the Campus Union Desk, and played intramural sports. I also went on a Habitat for Humanity trip my senior year to North Carolina where we had the opportunity to build a home for a family in need.
I had the opportunity to teach at many schools in the area surrounding Springfield during my Undergraduate experience. I spent my full time student teaching at Hadley Elementary School and Longmeadow High School in the Spring of 2017. I had many positive experiences but also some failures. No matter what the situation is I feel I am able to learn from my experiences. There is always something to take away and gain from the experience. During my student teaching experience I learned the importance of building positive relationships and creating a positive learning environment. These are some of the things that I plan to carry into my teaching experience at Pollard.
