It is believed that alcohol consumption dates back thousands of years among humans. The chemical and psychotropic properties of alcohol are distinct. Alcohols are compounds that, in chemistry, have had their hydrogen atoms replaced by hydroxyl groups. Secondary alcohols are the result of alcohols combining with other particles. Methanol, isopropanol, and ethanol are the three forms of secondary alcohol consumed regularly by humans.

Types of Alcohol

It's no secret to anyone who's shopped at a supermarket that there are hundreds of different kinds of booze to choose from. Alcohol that has been distilled has had its alcohol content concentrated, making it a more deadly drink.

    • Brandy

A wine that has been distilled is called brandy. Brandy's alcohol content can be anything from 35% and 60%: cognac, a famous brandy, clocks in at 40% alcohol by volume.

    • Rum

The usual alcohol content of rum, a distilled beverage produced by fermenting sugarcane or molasses, is 40% ABV. "Overproof" is a rum with an alcohol by volume (ABV) of at least 57.5%. Most overproof rum is stronger than this requirement, typically clocking in at 75.5% ABV (or 151 proof).

    • Absinthe

Absinthe is an alcoholic beverage distilled from a mixture of plants and leaves. There is no proof that absinthe is a hallucinogen, but it does contain a lot of alcohol. The alcohol by volume (ABV) of some types of absinthe is around 40%, while other types can reach 90%.

    • Gin

Distilled from juniper berries, gin is a popular spirit. From 35% to 55%, alcohol by volume is possible. Nordes Gin is a Galician gin made with juniper, ginger, hibiscus, and liquorice, among eleven other botanicals. The pomace used in its production comes from Albarino grapes. An intricate gin with a sea flavor. Kyro Gin is an excellent Nordic gin produced at the Kyrö Distillery in Isokyrö, Finland. The use of rye grain in the production of this gin contributes to its distinctive flavor and lively character. This gin makes a perfect G&T.

    • Whiskey

Whiskey is an alcoholic beverage produced by distilling grain. Whiskey has an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 40Ð50%. One variety of whiskey is called Amrut. Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Glendronach. An Aberlour institution since its founding in 1967, the Glenallachie Distillery produces malt whisky at the base of Ben Rinnes on Speyside. Formerly focusing on supplying blends, the distillery has reopened under its new name to become renowned for its delicious single malts.

    • Beer

Across the globe, more people drink beer than any other alcoholic beverage. Beer is the third most popular beverage worldwide, after water and tea. Beer may potentially be the earliest alcoholic beverage ever. Although some beers have higher or lower alcohol percentages, the typical ABV for lagers and ales is between 4% and 6%. For comparison's sake, "light beers" have an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 2%-4%, whereas "malt liquors" have an ABV of 6-8%.

Conclusion

Alcohol is the first and still the most popular narcotic used for recreational purposes worldwide. Although there are other varieties of alcohol, ethyl alcohol is the sole one used in the cocktails you want to serve (ethanol).
