Assignment Details
All Summer in a Day--to be done only after you've finished your essay
Date Due
Nov. 17, 2017
Additional Info
1) You need two columns--one for a list of what you're thinking while you're reading, and the other for a list of details you think might be important in the story. You should have at least five things in each column when you're finished.
2) After you're done reading and your columns are complete, make a list of ideas you think are present in the story--for instance, in The Road, we could say the ideas of love, independence, equality, and responsibility are present. You should have three or more.
2b) Once you have made your list, write a sentence or two about what you think the story has to say about two of these things--the lessons you see in the story. "The story teaches this lesson about _____________."
2c) Then jot down three pieces of evidence from the story that lead you to your conclusions about the story's lessons (three each) and explain how the evidence supports your idea.
If you don't finish in class, it's not for homework--we'll finish on Tuesday.
