For your final assignment, write about what you think Kahled Hosseini is trying to say with this book--consider the entire book and especially the conclusion. 

Yes--this is the story of Mariam and Laila and the people closest to them. But what you need to write about is the way Hosseini uses the characters and the story to communicate a lesson or message to the reader. What "big thing" does he want us to understand when we close the book for the last time?

Use text and detail from the whole book--including the last section--for support.  If you type, it needs to be two pages, 12-pt. font and double spaced. If you write, it needs to be at least 500 words.
