Date Due

Additional Info

Read Queen Elizabeth's speech before the Spanish Armada invasion on page 440 of your literature book.

Address what you see as the Queen's main point, and analyze at least three separate rhetorical strategies you see her using to make that point. Also, write about a specific line you find particularly persuasive or effective.

Think of a "rhetorical strategy" as the language an author uses to make a point or convince a reader (in this case, a listener) of something.

To "analyze" a strategy means to look closely at and write about the language an author uses to convey his/her message. Look for emotional or logical language; look for language that builds trust; look for language that builds up the writer and his/her cause--basically, look for all the different ways the author's language persuades.
