SPELLBOUND

Now that you've got your notes, it's time to write your paper. Your job is to write one-and-a-half pages (double-spaced, 12-point font, Times New Roman) about what you think the movie Spellbound is trying to say. Yes--it's a movie about the Scripps National Spelling Bee. But based on the students the movie-makers follow and the specific things they show us about those students, what message (or messages) do you think they intended to deliver in the movie? Think about what the movie might have to say about big ideas--like competition, diversity, hard work, supportive friends and family, personal motivation, etc.

Make sure your paper is your own; make sure your ideas are original.

Start with an outline. Make sure you have your main idea(s) and your supporting details written down before you start actually composing your essay.

Do not write to fill space. Write to make your point(s). If you have enough to say and enough evidence to support what you say, you shouldn't have any problem reaching the length requirement.
