Annotate as you read. Take note of and jot down lines that specifically show something about the Raskolnikov's mental state. There are MANY of these types of lines, so pick lines that you feel do the best job of showing his mental state and that may even have a relationship to each other.

You should choose 8-10 of these lines, and include a brief analysis of the line...a comment on how the line reflects or shows Raskolnikov's mental state and its development (or lack of).
