Additional Info
We're nearing the halfway point of the novel, and it's time to start trying to identify themes (or at least one theme) we see.
What is (at least) one idea/message Dostoevsky could be giving us through the actions/dialogue of the characters? Identify this theme--make sure you have a statement that says something along the lines of, "Dostoevsky is saying THIS about THIS." Write about a page in your own words developing this idea using details from this section.
Also, there are six smaller sections within Part III--from each section, identify at least two specific lines/phrases/passages that you believe help support the theme you've identified. Write these lines down, along with a brief explanation of why those lines are effective in supporting the theme.
Don't forget to spend extra time really digging into four of your selected quotes--be super specific about the context in which the quote appears.
So on Monday, you'll have the following:
1)A page about a theme you see being presented by Dostoevsky through the actions/dialogue of the characters--you'll use a few pieces of text for this.
2) Two lines from each section in which you give a brief explanation of how they support that theme (a total of 12 lines)
3) You will go in to extra detail on four of those selected quotes. Be as specific as you can about the quote's context and how exactly it supports your theme.
