AP exam discovery/poems

English Classes

3B AP Literature

Date

Dec. 4, 2017

Additional Info
1) I've linked to past AP exams in the "resources" section--free response questions only. In groups, look through them going back about 10 years or so. Get a feel for the kinds of things you're asked to read and the kinds of prompts you're expected to answer (for Q3 in particular). Jot down any trends (or anything else you notice). Are there any hints or tips you can develop based on your research?

2) In the "resources" section, use the first four documents to look at poetry ("The Black Walnut Tree" was the poem used in 2012). In groups, do everything the prompts ask you to do to the best of your ability except for writing the essays. Make sure there's equal discussion going on. You'll write a Q1 response as part of your semester exam, so make sure you're getting much out of this practice as you can.

You'll choose one of these poems to use in a timed essay on Wednesday. This is preparation for writing a full exam essay for the midterm.
