The Pardoner's Tale: The Movie
English Classes
Date Due
Oct. 16, 2014
Additional Info
In your group of five or fewer, you will film your own version of The Pardoner's Tale. I think iMovie is the best app to use, but if you know something that works better, feel free to use it.
As with our translations of Beowulf, you may take liberties with the language and even some of the actions of the tale. But the tale must remain the same. No parodies.
Step 1:
Storyboard--this means getting a general idea of what your story would look like if you actually drew it, scene by scene. You should either draw or write each of your scenes. Scene descriptions/illustrations can be very general; they just serve as a guide.
Step 2:
Script--the language and actions of the characters should be written out specifically. Provide good "stage directions," and make sure everybody knows exactly what they will say...no improv.
Step 3:
Rehearse--run through your script at least once without filming; run through twice if you have time.
Step 4:
Make your movie.
Guidelines:
Your movie should be no more than 8-10 minutes long (you should know approx. how long yours is before you ever film).
Students can play more than one part; everyone should have a speaking role.
Language should be school-appropriate.
