Additional Info
You will make a three to four minute speech. Your speech should be on a subject that matters to you (it can also be specifically about you), and it should help show us a little of who you are. Use rhetorical devices/strategies to advance your arguments or to make your points. You should have notes that you don't need to use. What you will turn in to me is your written speech. You can keep whatever notes you decide to use.
Think about it like this: If you decide to give a speech about how much you love music, then use the subject of music to tell us about you. Think about "Single-handed Cooking"--J.J. Goode's essay was basically about cooking, but it also showed us a part of who he is.
Also important is that your speech gives you the opportunity to use the same kinds of rhetorical strategies/devices we've been using and analyzing all year.
Scoring:
Time--20 (10 points off for every five seconds over or under the time limit)
Reliance on notes/presentation style--20
Strength of writing--30
Written speech--20 (meaning you actually have it)
Above and beyond (does it look like you tried to do a good job or just get the job done?--10
