You're going to be "Freedom Writer." Before Thursday of next week, you're going to write your own life story or a part of your life story as you see it. You can tell it however you want. You can start at the beginning and tell through now. You can write about one specific part of your life--maybe what you think is the MOST important part of your life.

You can write about your personality, your activities, your family, your friends, your hopes, dreams, etc.

I won't grade for punctuation, grammar, spelling--any of that. I'm only looking for honesty--as honest as you feel you can be. You also need to write at least two pages, but I hope you find something to write about that keeps you motivated for longer than that.

For extra credit, you can add a video component by using your iPad. If you write about your family, you can film them a little. If you write about your job, film yourself doing your job. If you write about a place that means a lot to you, film the place.

On the day when essays are due, you'll show your video to the class for extra credit. Don't show anything to the class that isn't school-appropriate.

Please try to have fun with this. Like I said--you can write it however you want--no lost points for anything except turning in incomplete, sloppy, or lazy work.
