There are six columns of 10 rhetorical devices each on the link provided. Choose five from each column (30 total). Write down--do not type--the device, the definition, and then two examples of your own that show you understand the device. If you simply copy the examples on the website, you will not get credit for the assignment.

The reason we're doing this is because it will give you one more think to look for or think about when reading. It's not so important that you know the names of each of these devices...in fact, I'd say that's the least important part. But it's good to recognize the kinds of little things authors can do to drive a small point home or to help make a larger point.
