In the PDF, you'll read almost to the bottom of page 27. Stop when you complete the paragraph that ends with, "Then they set off across the fields towards the road."

Also, as you read, write down at least 10 sentences or phrases that you feel help to build the tension and suspense in the story. Look for sentences that are sort of sneaky in the way they build tension, too. Remember--in this world, ANYTHING feels dangerous...a sound, a movement...anything could mean danger for the man and boy.

Also, for five of the sentences, write down why you chose them...explain what makes them feel like they are building tension.
