Have a go at learning how to translate the Latin of section 1 of the Aeneid for next Friday, where I'll give you a couple of small chunks of the text to translate. 

As I said in the lesson, the most important thing is that you have a go at learning the text word-by-word, rather than simply learning the English as a script. This is important for literature questions and it will be very beneficial for your Latin language on the whole.    

If you find this hard at first, don't torment yourself over it and spend any more than your allotted homework time on it. I'd much rather you try to figure out the correct technique and only manage to learn 3 lines in 40 minutes than you learn the whole section as a script.   

So, have a go; this is an exercise in figuring out the learning technique more than anything else.
