Today, you will receive the rubric for your argument essay. Please, please use this as you are writing and revising your essay. We will read through it and discuss expectations as a class.

The remainder of class will be spent writing your drafts and doing revisions on your existing drafts. As you work, I will call you to my desk for your writing conference. Be prepared to show/explain the following to me:
  • a full, complete rough draft
  • your hook
  • your claim with reasons
  • the format you chose (1, 2, or 3)
  • your pieces of outside evidence with citations
  • your counterclaim(s)
  • your rebuttals/refutations
  • any questions or issues you are having??

Drafts will receive a completion grade of 50 points. Full credit drafts will have all required parts and will show evidence of time and effort.
