Second hour needs to do the grammar from Thursday, which we forgot to do before leaving for the library.

Once everyone has finished taking the quiz, we will listen to a short story, "Lamb to the Slaughter," by Roald Dahl. While I am reading aloud, you should be writing down anything that you would describe as "descriptive" writing; that is, jot down anything that makes the story come alive for you, that helps paint a picture of the scenes or the characters for you.

Your first essay is a descriptive one. Although your essay is not necessarily a narrative, many of you are telling a story in your essay. Descriptive writing make primary use of imagery, the five senses. In order to draw your audience in, it is essential to use language that is engaging and inspiring.
