Thrive, don't Survive

2014-2015

Freshman Literature, Fall 2014

Date

Aug. 7, 2014

Additional Info
Learning Target: Students will recall certain classroom procedures and expectations. Students and a parent or guardian will complete the syllabus receipt agreement form.

First, can anyone successfully name everyone in the class and his or her awesome fact from memory??

Today, we will be going through the class syllabus and learning about the classroom and how things are run.

While I am reading through the syllabus, you should be taking notes on any and all important information. (We will normally take all notes in the Cornell notes style, but for today, just do whatever is most comfortable.)

Surprise!

Parent/Guardian letter: This letter MUST be taken home to a parent or guardian. It explains to your parents some of the technology we'll be using in class and how to access it. Most importantly, it tells them how to access the class syllabus, which they have to sign electronically. Please reiterate to your parents that if I am trying to go as paperless as possible, but if they need or prefer a paper copy of either the syllabus or the receipt form, have them indicate that on the parent letter and return it to school to me.

Reminder for tomorrow: You will be checking books out for the class in the AV room. You MUST have your student ID to check out a book!!

*Reminder for Monday: If you have a smart phone, tablet, or other personal device, please bring it to class with you Monday so we can get signed up for some of the various web-based applications we will use in this class.
