3. One of the most famous scenes in Romeo and Juliet is the balcony scene of Act II, scene ii. Today, we are going to analyze several different versions of this scene.

4. One important aspect of theater is interpretation; that is, the way one person reads and interprets a line or a scene or a character is not the way someone else will. The directors make choices in the way(s) they will present a story. Some delete lines. Others change the order of events. Others depict the mood of the scene differently. To start today's activity, we will read through the original text in our literature book (II.ii.1-190).
