Final Lesson Work Day

2014-2015

Freshman Literature, Fall 2014

Date

Sept. 12, 2014

Additional Info
This is your last day to work on your lessons in class. PLEASE make good use of this time.

Everyone must have something he or she is working on.

As another review, here are the requirements for the lessons:

  1. A technology-based aspect (Google Presentation, Prezi, Slide Share, video, etc.)
  2. An artistic aspect (drawings, paintings, collages, an original song or poem, a skit, etc.) These should be used to enhance the lesson.
  3. Additional research. You must present more information than can be found in your literature book. Make connections to other things. Find out where myths came from or why certain events are important in the story. Look up the culture of ancient Greece to give us a better idea of why people did the things they did in your section.
  4. Examples of direct and indirect (specifying which type) characterization. Must use the text!
  5. You must teach any vocabulary words in your section. These are found at the bottom of the page and are labeled "Vocabulary." Word, meaning, how it's used in the story, and another sample sentence.
  6. At least one addition to the hero chart. Must use the text!
  7. Some sort of assessment. This could be a game or a quiz or a contest, anything that makes sure the class has learned what you wanted them to learn. Be sure to incorporate the vocab words into your assessment.
  8. Lesson MUST answer the questions in your study guides for your section.
  9. Lesson MUST be between 17-20 minutes long.
  10. ALL group members MUST take an active role.
  11. Lessons must be polished and professional. Everyone knows what he or she is saying. Any posters or drawings are clean and carefully done. Presentation slides make sense and don't have too much information on them.
  12. Need to know some of what the class needs to know? Refer to your section's questions in the study guide!
