Tuesday Cover Work
Step 1- Allow 3 minutes for this step- Please upload a photograph of your mood board in the Assessment 1 folder on Showbie- I will mark these over the Easte holiday.
Step 2- Allow 30 minutes for this step- Using your design work from last week- initial design ideas and your mood board, you are going to produce a Developed Design Idea (just 1 idea) please see example in the pack. Please use sheet provided to help you with the layout.
You need to sketch a developed design idea- you must show development from your initial design ideas. If designs ideas are the same from the initial designs then you have not developed the concept and at GCSE level you would be in the bottom box. It is really important to avoid design fixation ad you should see this as an exciting opportunity to really challenge yourself and design ideas.
Please address the following points on your design page;
- Produce a detailed free hand sketch of your developed design idea on the A3 sheet provided, complete the boxes.
- Identify what materials and processes you will be using Ð think about the materials and processes we have covered, you can refer to your sketch books for details on the processes.
- Comment upon any social factors linking to your design, there are some cards that I will leave out to help you consider these issues, you can also have a look at the example to get you started, you need to consider how people will be interacting with your product and that your product should not cause any injury during itÕs use, so you may suggest that all corners are rounded off to prevent anyone injuring themselves as an example.
- Swap work with someone on your table and ask for feedback, collect some target market comments on your work.
Step 3- Assessed work 5- Final Design Idea- Allow 40 minutes / remainer of the lesson
Please upload your final design idea into the Assessment 5 folder on Showbie for marking over Easter.
Sorry I can’t be there today! I hope that you all have a lovely holiday! See you after Easter when we can start to manufacture!
Many thanks
