ORIGINAL message;
I KNOW YOU HAVE A HOMEWORK DUE IN FOR THIS WEEK ALREADY (set last week), I AM JUST SETTING YOUR HOMEWORK FOR THIS WEEK NOW SO YOU CAN ORGANISE YOUR OWN TIME AND GET A JUMPSTART ON REVISION IF YOU WANT TOÉ.
I'll try and keep this short, but please ready the following so you know the plan for this week and next.
Test + Revision;
- The test will not be on or before your first lesson next week. I need to confirm with Mr Boothroyd and Miss Cunningham. At the very least, we will do two lessons on moments this week (which to be honest only really needs one lesson, but that means we can use the second lesson doing questions on moments, which means I can set less directed homework this week, and you have more time to revise), and a revision lesson next week. The second lesson will either be the test or the first lesson of the next topic (leaving the test to the week after). I will email you tomorrow to confirm.
- I have made Revision section in your OneNote's (09). In it, I have put the revision checklist, which includes the whole of the topic, and highlights the bits you can ignore (as we do those in year 11), and the bits that are assumed to knowledge (from Y9).
- DonÍt spend too long going over the year 9 stuff, most of the test will be on a Y10 content, but for example, you may have to dovetail Y10 content on the effects of forces, with year 9 content on interpreting v-t graphs (e.g. a forces and the resulting motion of a skydiver).
- To help you with that, I have attached some flashcards that I made for the Y9s that you may find useful. I have time Tomorrow and Wednesday, and will make some more flashcards for the Y10 content. I will email you when I have uploaded them to OneNote. Hopefully this will take some of the pressure off, as you can wait for my flashcards, rather than making your own.
- As we have one more lesson on Moments (where there will be plenty chance to get more Q practice on Moments), and a whole revision lesson next week where there will be general forces Qs for you to have a go at, you will not be short of revision opportunities in and out of lesson.
This weeks homework;
Obviously the main part of your homework is to revise, but as we have a whole lesson next week for revision too, I need to set you a short worksheet on Moments, this is just an equation practice worksheet like the ones you have seen (I will redistribute in the next 30mins with model answers for part (a) of each question so you know you are showing your working out properly). The sheet is "3 - Moments Collins Qs" in Lesson 08.
This should not take you long, so the rest of the time can be spent organising your own revision for the end of topic test.
