The Karyotype Activity should go in your lab notebook. Use the sample karyotypes in the handout with the circle on it as a reference.

Remember the following:

1) Karyotypes go from longest chromosomes to shortest chromosomes (use a ruler to help match homologous chromosomes; homologous chromosomes carry the same genes and will have the same banding pattern)

2) Cut out matched chromosomes and adhere them into your lab notebook starting at the longest chromosomes. See attachment below for key for the "Normal" Karyotype.
