Additional Info

MATERIALS NEEDED:

¤ Electronic device to access your course with a steady internet supply (THIS is the most important item as we are starting the year out fully virtual. While most applications we will be using can work from your phone, I recommend a device to edit or write on documents. Please contact the school if you need a device or refer to Ms. Stewart's emails/announcements on distribution dates.)

¤ Calculator (scientific) - TI 30/34/36 or a graphing calculator (you will want to be able to do exponents and have a log function)

¤ Periodic Table and Polyatomic Ions Chart (provided on Jan 6 Distribution Day or print your own - see attached pdf's)

¤ Notebook or folder and paper (for assignments, notes, etc)

¤ Pens &/or pencils (for assignments, notes, etc)

¤ Colored markers, pencils, highlighters &/or crayons

¤ You need anything that helps you stay organized, take notes and create. Whether that is a white board or an agenda book (digital or paperback), decide on a system and follow through. Here are two great articles with some suggested items.. be sure to scroll down to the Middle & High School List on this one https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/life/parenting/tips/a17427/school-shopping-lists/ or look at this one https://www.greatschools.org/gk/articles/high-school-back-to-school-supply-list/

¤ A designated desk in a specific set quiet area free from distractions to work from every day Here is an article with advice on how to build that space https://indywithkids.com/creating-student-workspace-classroom-home/ or check out this one https://ccaeducate.me/blog/tips-for-setting-up-your-students-workspace/ Plan to get dressed and ready, just like you are coming to school. Set this space for study and class time. Take breaks in a separate area. This will help you focus when you are in that area on school and not other things.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please, reach out to me at stephanie.day@cobbk12.org.
