  2. Notes - Unit 2 Ionic Compounds Guided Video 2 of 2 Notes.docx (Here a link that tells more about Polyatomic Ions)
  3. Practice - Assignment 5 Ionic_Naming_Practice.pdf (The first page has a summary of how to name each type of ionic or see the flow chart below.)
  4. Homework - Mastery Check - DUE at start of class Tuesday, September 22 (Graded)
  • On three SEPARATE pieces of paper WRITE out (ONE) example of
    1. a binary (simple) ionic compound,
    2. a binary (with transition metal) ionic compound and
    3. a ternary ionic compound (ionic compound with a polyatomic)
  • BE SURE TO INCLUDE FOR EACH:
    • Ionic Compound Name
    • Steps to go from ionic compound to the formula
      • This means explain how to make the formula (be sure to include any math, crisscross, steps, etc)
    • Ionic Compound Formula
    • Draw what the puzzle pieces would look like

**Unit 2 TEST/PROJECT DUE by Thursday, October 8 at midnight** This is your assessment for Unit 2. Be sure to look over it and ask questions - we have covered Ionic Compounds so far and will add Covalent on Thurs, 9/24 and Acids on Mon, Oct 12. I will try to post those earlier in case you want to get started. You already know how to identify Ionic, Acids and Covalent - you may just not know how to name then yet.
