Additional Info

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO COMPLETE THE GOALS BELOW!! You must complete the worksheets and 3 nearpods for completion. I will use the feedback on nearpods to guide our lesson on Friday.

ON FRIDAY: Packet and 2 Nearpods DUE!!!

If you do not have your packet and nearpods completed, Friday will feel overwhelming. You must complete them all! Packet must be stapled and with correct page number in the right hand corner (and completed). See the keys below and helpful links if you are stuck. Come see me and ask questions if you are still not understanding something.

Goals for the next two block periods:

  • Be able to convert between calories and joules
  • Be able to solve Q = M A C T [ A = triangle]
  • Be able to solve Calorimetry Equilibrium Problems (qLOST =qGAINED)
  • Be able to explain and solve for Hess's Law using given equations and H values
  • Be able to define and indicate if a reaction is endothermic or exothermic given Enthalpy, Entropy and Gibb's Free Energy
  • Solve for q (heat) Heat of Fusion and Heat of Vaporization (Heating/cooling Curve)

COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING: Log into the nearpods with your first and last name. (No nicknames, etc, or no credit) (If 2 people are working together, need both names)

  1. Nearpod 1: FAOKG
  2. Wkst: How many calories are burned? (cal to J to kJ) #1
  3. Wkst: Temperature and Calorie/Joule Conversions #2
  4. Wkst: Specific Heat Problems (Basic) #3
  5. Nearpod 2: QWXSG
  6. Wkst: Hess's Law #5 [there is a typo on 7. change to 3 O2 not 5 O2]
  7. Nearpod 3: USVDH
  8. Wkst: Heat and Calorie Conversions #4
  9. Wkst: Calorimetric- heating/cooling Curves #6

ALL WKSTS AND NEARPODS DUE FRIDAY, MAY 6, 2016.
