Day 92: Net Ionic Stations Day

2015-2016

Chemistry

Date

Jan. 12, 2016

Additional Info
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: This semester takes what we learned last semester and applies all first semester topics. CHECK POINT: If any of the topics covered thus far are still a struggle.. COME SEE ME!
We have covered Moles, Mole Conversions, Writing Balanced Equations and Predicting Products, Net Ionic, Determining Solubility..

MAIN IDEA: Double replacement reactions can be simplified into net ionic equations (this shows what is actually reacting vs spectator ions)
EQ: What happens when salts "dissolves"?

DUE: Group Study Guide (Moles, Mole Mass, Balancing Equations)
  1. Warm up: When we cook pasta, we frequently dissolve table salt in water. Is there a limit to how much salt we can get into the water? (Use the vocabulary terms unsaturated, saturated and supersaturated to answer the warm up.)
  2. Stations (assigned groups) (We only had time to get to two stations, we will get to the last one tomorrow and finish up with questions.)
  3. Close Out: Submit answer via socrative. Room Code: FUNDAY
