Additional Info
EQ: How can we describe/model motion that is in 2D (not just horizontal or vertical)?

Schedule
I. Exploring 2D Motion: Consider these three scenarios and draw a motion diagram, label all forces acting on item at each time interval and use vectors to show velocity (show x and y direction, if needed):
1) Ping pong ball rolling in a straight line is blown by gust of wind (your breath) at a right angle.
2) Toss a ping pong ball to your friend. Draw a motion diagram. Label all forces acting on the ball at various places on the parabola. (Remember the definition of vector = magnitude and direction.)
3) Use the spring forces to draw two tension diagrams: 1) weight hanging in the center and spring scales at same height and 2) weight hanging in center but one spring scale higher than the other.
II. KWL Chart for 2D Motion: Write all that you know about 1D Motion and Forces and What you want to Learn this unit. (think, pair, share: class discussion)
