Reminder Poster Presentation (Due: Tuesday, September 16)

**HW Check: PHeT lab Motion and Forces Basic and Fill in the Blank Notes on Forces

Warm Up: What are Newton’s 3 laws? Give an example of how each are seen your daily life.

[Use PPT: Newton’s Laws Heaton]

Review/Application of Newton’s Three Laws:

DI: Teacher gives a scenario and shows how Newton’s 3 Laws are demonstrated.

GP: Class discussion/PPT of several scenarios of Newton’s 3 Laws

IP: Students work independently and identify and defend Newton’s 3 Laws in given scenarios.

Assessment: Students use their fingers to indicate answer. Teacher assigned select students who were mastering the assignment one scenario to presents/defend their reasoning.

Free Body Diagrams:

DI: Teacher shows an example of each type of force and how to draw free body diagram.

GP: Students take notes of each force and draw a representation using a free body diagram.

IP: Student practices using UNIT IV: Worksheet 1

Wrap Up: Student will be able to identify any of Newton’s 3 Laws given a scenario and draw a free body diagram for the given scenario by identifying the magnitude and direction of everyday forces (wind, tension in ropes, pushes and pulls, weight, etc.)
