Date

Oct. 6, 2014

Additional Info
Due: 1) Napoleon Button's Questions and 2) Rough Draft of Atomic Timeline

Unit 3: Ch. 4 and Ch. 25 Test will be on 10/22.
EQ: How has the atomic theory evolved and influenced science as a whole?
STD: SC3 Students will use the modern atomic theory to explain the characteristics of an atom.
HW Check/Warm Up: (15 minutes)
1) Draw what a single atom looks like and include its subparticles. 2) Receive feedback on timeline rough draft. 3) Discuss any questions on Napoleon's Buttons worksheet.
Lecture/Notes/Checkpoint Questions: (30 minutes)

4.1 to 4.2 PPT (with small clips, discussion, checkpoint questions, graphic organizer); Take II: How would you change your atom picture in the warm up now?

Scientist Defend The Atom: (10 minutes)
a) Students are in groups of 2-3. Each group is assigned a scientist. (1 min) b) One group member is chosen to be the scientist and the group decides on how that scientist would. (2 min) c) Each scientist presents their version of the atom and the class votes to which scientist the student is imitating.
