AP Chem B - QUIZ on Chap 7 (see below!)

2021-2022

AP Chemistry (B)

Date

Dec. 7, 2021

Additional Info
  • By this point, all 3 sets of Ch. 7 exercises should be completed and corrected using the key(s) posted on OneNote. Your PES POGIL should be completed (last week?), and an answer key is also posted in the content library. You need to know how to draw and/or interpret a PES spectrum.
  • Study bold-faced terms from Chapter 7, review concepts, handouts, textbook Qs, etc. Topics include such things as the 3 different types of spectra, Bohr's model, de Broglie, wave-particle duality, Heisenberg, Schrodinger, the symbols for and meaning of the 4 quantum numbers, electron configurations -- full, shorthand, and orbital diagrams, assigning quantum numbers, and periodicity (which is bigger? which has the higher electron affinity? the lower ionization energy?) The quiz will be mostly multiple choice, fill-in, and short answer.
  • The Ch. 7 Resources tab in the Content library is PACKED with great study tools such as...
  • A set of study Qs to provide excellent practice; the annotated key is posted right below it
  • A set of MC Qs from the college board IS posted in OneNote with answers at the end.
  • Also - your textbook has 15 REALLY good MC Qs at the end of Ch. 7. The answer key is posted on OneNote
  • Albert io could provide addition MC practice.
  • If time allows, read the ChemMatters article on "Light of a Different Color." It is posted in Ch. 7 Resources. An extra credit Q. might come from that article(?)
  • Begin studying for the midterm, if you haven't already. Albert io is a good resource for practice MC Qs--as are past content library test review sections
