AP Chem -- Quest on Ch. 15 and real AP(s); keep plugging on Albert io
2021-2022
Date
April 13, 2022
Additional Info
- Make sure you have completed one or two "real APs" and corrected those AS WELL AS sets 1-2. You have been given 5 real APs to use as practice--1 is in the "test prep" area below the "Quick Checks"
- The QUEST will be about acid/base equilibrium and reactions, but it will emphasize chapter 15 topics, mainly buffers, titrations, and indicators.
- It would also be "fair game" to include the 2 end-of-Chapter 14 topics that weren't included on last week's quiz -- Molecular structure of acids and their corresponding strength and behavior of metal vs. non-metal oxides in water
- I will not go out of my way to put other Chapter 14 material on the test, but Ch. 14 provided important background for Chapter 15 --- including setting up Ka or Kb expressions, calculating pH or pOH, how strong acids and bases differ, why salts might not be neutral, etc.
- The Quick Checks, Real APs, MC Qs at the end of Zumdahl Chapter 15 (with key posted in OneNote), and Albert io Qs for Unit 8 are all great ways to practice.
- You were also given 4 handouts from Chemmybear and Butler with tips on how to handle acid/base problems involving titrations, buffers, etc.
- By the end of this week, work on completing 25 more Albert io multiple choice Qs of your choosing for a total of 50 Qs (I suggest medium or difficult to give the best preparation) -- due by Sunday night at 6 pm. It might be a good strategy to do a 3-5 per day -- on topics that will help you review
