  • Make sure you have completed the POGIL activity on Formal Charge, not including the extension Qs (although they are EXCELLENT!)  
  • Also, all of your corrections should now be complete for sets 8-2, 8-3, and 9-1. The key is now in the content library. I have provided some feedback, also on your homework assignments. Some of you need to be more thorough with your dot diagrams and especially shapes -- showing the equatorial planes on any expanded octet shapes.
  • QUIZ on Ch. 8-9 topics. Everything we have covered since the break, starting with 8.9, is fair game, including Lewis structures, exceptions to octet rule, resonance, formal charge, VSEPR Theory, molecular shapes, bond angles, polarity, hybridization, sigma and pi bonding, delocalized electrons, etc.
  • If you want to challenge yourself more with drawing random Lewis structures and predicting shapes (from our model-building activity), I am posting the key to the whole thing in the Chapter 8-9 resources.
  • Or... you could also play with the PhET activity I introduced on Thurs/Fri -- posted soon under "quiz/test review."
  • We will be moving on to Chapter 12, Kinetics, next.
