  • If we did not get to all of it in class, watch the Butler screencast posted under Ch. 8 on the 4 shapes derived from 5 electron areas (trigonal bi-pyramidal, etc.) Feel free to "speed it up" if need be.
  • Do textbook exercises Chapter 8 - Problem Set 3: page.411 #113-116, 119-120, 125, 157 (157 is optional but good!). Note that when it says "predict the structure," you should actually SKETCH it as well as saying the name. Remember that any which are based on expanded octets need to include the triangle or parallelogram in the equatorial plane!
  • If time allows, move ahead and do the Chapter 9 exercises as well. If not, you will need to complete them for Wednesday, along with studying for the quiz. Make sure you have read the relevant sections of chapter 9, posted the other day.
  • We will soon be moving into Chapter 12 on Kinetics, if you are trying to keep ahead of the curve!  :)  We are skipping over Chapters 10-11 for now.
