AP Chem - (Lab Day) - Read Chapter 2 (see below)

2020-2021

AP Chemistry (A)

Date Due

Aug. 31, 2020

Additional Info
  • Read Chapter 2, in the way I've suggested, by pre-reading the headings, asking yourself some overarching questions that you hope will be answered in the text (about how the headings relate to each other), and reading/studying each diagram, chart, and photo -- BEFORE actually starting on the text. Take notes for yourself of things you want to remember from the reading--perhaps after finishing a short section, so as not to interrupt the "flow" of the reading.
  • Start with 2.7-2.8 if you are pinched for time, and feel free to begin the textbook problems (in One Note homework section) -- if you are someone who likes to read and immediately apply your knowledge.
  • Ch. 2 Set one will be due for Wednesday in OneNote: pp. 77-78 #71 a-d, #72 a-d, #75-77, 83 (all), 85f,l,m, 86g,h,i, 87b,d,e, 88 (all), and 95 c-g (try to internalize the nicknames and formulas) This is the first of a two-part assignment.
  • We will cover naming and formula-writing in class on Monday -- as well as doing a lab. Be sure to bring along your lab notebook.
  • There is also a screencast on Naming and formula-writing (except for acid naming) in the Chapter 2 Resources of the Content Library
