Additional Info
  • finish POGIL activity Qs -- the short one we did in class (took 5 minutes) and "ChemActivity 36" (SHOW WORK - in spaces provided, not just answers). Include the exercises at the end--Qs 1-4. Also, make sure to READ and internalize the information on the front side of the handout. I suggest using square brackets [ ] for molarity rather than parentheses ( ) for molarity. Of course, use the actual chemicals, such as [Cl-], if provided, rather than the generic term, [products].
  • A further hint is that on Table 1, the 2 rows of values are really "initial" and "final."  What really matters, though, is the CHANGE LINE, which follows the stoichiometry of the reaction! Try to sandwich this between the two sets of values, and THAT is what you'll use to answer Q. 6.

  • Continue reading Chapter 12. It is important you actually read the chapter rather than "skimming." The material we've been covering so far is "differential rate laws" in sections 12.1-12.3. We will be learning about the "method of initial rates" in class.
