AP Chem C and F (double) - TEST on Chapters 2-3

2019-2020

AP Chemistry (F)

Date

Oct. 3, 2019

Additional Info
  • TEST on Chapter 2-3; format is multiple choice, representative problems similar to textbook assignments or handouts, and a free response question similar to the 2 real A.P.'s. Any material in either chapter is "fair game," although the emphasis would be on things we've covered in class and on homework.
  • Make sure you have CORRECTED your Chapter 3 exercises (which you should have completed before the quiz last week) and the real APs using a different colored pen and the keys on OneNote
  • Suggested practice: do new exercises you haven't done before--perhaps odd-numbered book exercises not already assigned (with answers in the back)  OR.... that handout Mr. E. gave you!  I will post a key.
  • Hint #1 for the test: make sure you review your ion symbols and charges and make sure you review the 7 diatomic elements. They all end in -gen or -ine, and they form a "heavenly 7" on the periodic table, (Mr. Dunn's mnemonic was "I Bring Clay For Our New House)." This means that iodine, bromine, chlorine, fluorine, oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen exist as paired atoms when they are by themselves as elements.
  • Hint #2: Extra credit often comes from the sidebars or boxes in the reading.
  • Many useful resources are posted on OneNote.
  • Yes, you do need to know "the people" -- and "who discovered what? or who used what experiment?" -- especially for the most noteworthy discoveries
