  • You need to know the ions "cold" (both sides of the sheet you were given).  Most students find the polyatomic ions need the most work. Some students find flash cards to be immensely helpful (or an electronic equivalent such as quizlet.) In all cases, you will be given the ion name and asked to provide the symbol and charge.  Fresh resources are posted for you in Moodle Chapter 7!  (including interactive flash cards that work on your phone or computer)
  • Make sure you have read all of Section 7.1, particularly page 218 on acid naming (see/study the chart in figure 1.6)
  • Correct the naming worksheet (no acids/no hydrates) due Friday; they key is in OneNote and it was also sent by email.  You should begin studying for the naming/formula-writing quiz on Wednesday by doing extra practice --- perhaps by doing some "extra" ones you didn't already try.  There are additional items on Moodle you could use to practice.
