2018-2019

AP Chemistry (A) 17-18

Date Due

Additional Info
  • Do real AP from the solutions Chapter - posted on OneNote
  • Do at least HALF of the 2-sided IMF's worksheet handed out in class
  • Do the web tutorials that go with Chapter 10, including phase changes and heating curves (Norton), and Butler "IMFs" -- posted on Moodle
  • Read as much of Chapter 10 in your textbook as time allows
  • Answer these Chapter 10 book exercises: p. 500-504 #39-40,42,69, 96, 97bc, and 103 on OneNote
  • Answer the two "real APs" which relate to bonding principles (posted on OneNote)
  • As time allows, work on taking a practice National Chemistry Olympiad test so you can ask Qs about what you are not understanding
  • Optional Quest Corrections from the Buffer Quest should be turned in, if you were planning to do them.
  • Read the sheet "Why Liquids Boil"
  • Study the 1-sided handout on Heating Curves (showing the heat of vaporization, specific heat capacity, etc.), hand-written by me
  • Optional "background" or extra practice material (done with my 1st level chemistry class) -- with answer keys posted on Moodle:
    • the 2-sided worksheet called "Chapter 17" with diagrams of vapor pressure, heating curves, and phase changes
    • the 2-sided "bonding worksheet" -- handwritten by me. It would help you greatly if you've already watched the Butler Screencast about "IMFs"
    • the 1-sided IMF worksheet with lots of diagrams (not very good ones!) illustrating the 6 types of interactions; #13 at the bottom is the most important one to be able to answer, but the rest is good review!
  • BRING in any items you'd like to ask about!
