  • If we did not get to it in class on Friday, watch the Butler screencast posted under Ch. 8 on the 4 shapes derived from 5 electron areas (trigonal bi-pyramidal, etc.)
  • I STRONGLY suggest watching the Norton Tutorials posted on Moodle -- especially those covering "resonance," "hybridization," and "expanded octets." They are VERY GOOD!
  • Do textbook exercises Problem Set 3: page.411 #113-116, 119-120, 125, 157 (157 is optional but good!)
  • If time allows, work on the Beer's Law Lab in your lab notebook.
  • If time allows, read textbook sections 9.1 (page 416-428), section 9.3 (only page 434, the paragraph about paramagnetism and diamagnetism and the 4 points listed on page 435), and section 9.5-9.6 (pages 441-444)
