Students should start by completing the Google Classroom assignment titled: Imagery and "You Can't Write a Poem About McDonald's".

Students should not turn this assignment in on Google Classroom when they finish it. We will go over the answers to the assignment tomorrow and they can turn it in after we go over the answers as a class.

Students should work on constructing an original poem that includes imagery. Students completed their own graphic organizer for this assignment last night for homework. They should use their graphic organizer to help them construct their 10-15 line imagery poem. This assignment is titled Constructing Your Own Poem Using Imagery. I have a model of an organizer I created and an original poem I wrote to help guide the students through this assignment. This assignment is homework if they do not finish it in class today. Students can go ahead and submit this assignment on Google Classroom if they finish it before class is over today.

Students can start the Google Classroom assignment titled: Identifying Mood in Songs if they finish all of the work listed above. They will need to use headphones for this assignment.

Homework: Using the graphic organizer you completed yesterday, construct a poem that is: 1. 10-15 lines long 2. Includes imagery 3. The poem includes 2-3 types of figurative language
