Hamlet Socratic Seminar

2016-2017

10th Honors Literature

Date Due

May 16, 2017

Additional Info
Socratic Seminars will take place on Tuesday May 16, Wednesday May 17, and Friday May 19.
Posted below are the instructions/expectations for the seminar and a document with the people in your group and which questions (questions can be found on the Hamlet_Socratic Info doc.) you are responsible for preparing responses, evidence, and questions for. Your 2 pages of notes only need to be focused on the questions you are assigned, but you may want to look at the other questions as an opportunity to ask questions will be given to people in the outer circle.
Your 2 pages of MLA formatted notes need to be submitted to turnitin.com by 11:59pm Monday May 15.
You may bring your printed notes to class the day of the seminar, but you may not have your device. If you need help printing your notes contact Ms. Alred before your scheduled class.
Be prepared for your group to go on Tuesday as the order will be random
Focus of Seminar
  1. Quality not quantity - show me what you know in the seminar and support your anlaysis with evidence.
  2. Conversational Skills - this is a conversation with your peers not a speech. Part of the grade is based on your interactions with and awareness of your peers in the circle. Offering something insightful will not get you the max points if you sacrifice another person in the circle or don't acknowledge where the conversation is in order to say your piece.
  3. High Expectations - this is our 3rd seminar of the year. I expect you to rock it!
If you have any questions feel free to email me. Good luck!
Ms. Alred
