Additional Info
Complete the written work for Chapter 25:
  • OneNote/ Tacitus/ 05. Writing/ 01. Chapter 25 - Questions.
  • Complete your work in whichever way you complete exams (i.e. handwriting on paper or typing). If you type, please hand in a printed copy of your work.
  • In the Lower Sixth, you will have 6-mark and 8-mark questions for which you must analyse the style and content of a passage. Make three points (i.e. three concise paragraphs) for 6-mark questions and four points (i.e. four concise paragraphs) for 8-mark questions.
  • In each paragraph:
    • Make a point that answers the question.
    • Support your point with a punchy Latin quotation (i.e. more than a single word but less than a line). Do not use ellipsis i.e. [...].
    • Immediately translate your quotation in brackets).
    • Analyse your quotation in reference to the question. Re-translate anything that you quote from the quotation.
  • Spend as much time as you need planning the 6-mark question, but set a timer and only spend 10 minutes writing it. It is important to be able to answer such questions quickly and concisely; this is a skill that you will refine over the course.
Revise the translation for Chapter 25:
  • It will hopefully be easier to revise the translation once you have completed the written work.
  • Revise the meaning of each individual word in the way that I demonstrated in class.
Please do get in touch if you have any questions.
