  1. Create a similes revision chart:
    • Have three columns.
    • Column 1: copy out the simile with a line reference. E.g. his descent was like nightfall. Book 1, lines 40-50.
    • Column 2: explain the points of comparison. E.g. Apollos' descent from Olympus is likened to the arrival of night at the end of the evening
    • Column 3: explain the effect of the comparison. E.g. Like nightfall, Apollo's descent from Olympus is silent, dangerous, ominous and foreshadows the plague that is about to begin.
