I won't be in class today so the assessment will be on Friday instead. You have two things to do today:
A: Finish Herodotus Activity
Write the title 'Using the methods of Herodotus' in your exercise book, then write out the below question underneath:

Reviewing your sources sheet from last Friday, you need to construct your own historical argument about the Battle of Thermopylae. It is not an opinion but an argument; it must be based on historical evidence, so use evidence from the sources you were given on Friday.
Write the title 'Using the methods of Herodotus' in your exercise book, then write out the below question underneath:
After reading all four documents, how many Persians do you think fought at the Battle of Thermopylae?
Begin your argument with the sentence 'Having reviewed the historical evidence, it can be argued that...'
Remember - you need to gather ALL the evidence you have and make a judgement based on it. Which are the most reliable sources and why should they be trusted? You must analyse the sources you have been given.
Your argument should be between 1/2 a side and one side in length.
B: Revise for Assessment
Once you have finished the above, you may revise for the assessment on Friday. The Herodotus activity will be an important part of the assessment, so this must be completed first!
