Your classwork and homework this week is to write a Homeric verse of your own, about the section of the Iliad that you have been given. Follow these instructions:

  • It doesn't have to rhyme but it must resemble Homeric poetry (like the extracts in your exercise book)
  • It should be quite short (between 4 & 8 lines)
  • Use Homeric themes (in exercise book)
  • Use Homeric imagery (in exercise book)
  • Use Homeric epithets
