Additional Info
Hi all,
I am sorry for missing our lesson today, I am on a field trip with year 11.
However, this does provide an opportunity for you all to consolidate what we were doing just prior to half term, which hopefully is useful given that a number of you missed the original lesson on active transport. On Friday, we will look at Osmosis and how osmosis affects plant cells and then next week we will move on the looking at the cell cycle before complete the next two required practical investigations (2+4).

Please ensure you have completed the following before Friday.

1) Finish exam questions (on paper) that we were doing in the lesson prior to half term - I have left these on the front desk of UB1.
2) Review your recall/understanding of all cell transport mechanisms covered so far (simple diffusion, facilitated diffusion and all types of active transport). Ensure you have notes that you are happy with on the absorption of glucose in the small intestine.
3) Complete the 'extra consolidation questions' page in the transport mechanisms section on OneNote and then mark using the MS on the same page.
4) Pre-read and note relevant textbook pages on Osmosis - remind yourself of GCSE material. Pages 89-92
5) Extension - If you have time, what are aquaporins? What are their job and where do we find them? Specifically, what is their role in the collecting duct of the kidney?

See you Friday!
