Homework this term is technically optional, but you are advised to use this time to help you revise and prepare for your EoY exams. I will set you tasks to help guide your preparation in addition to tasks in the Revision Booklet you have been issued from the English department.

Young & Dyslexic
  1. Re-read the text and chunk it into three sections - beginning, middle and end. Establish your reasoning for making the splits at this point as this will help guide your topic sentences/ideas.
  2. In each section, identify three language features and three structural features (you should have nine of each overall). Highlight these on your text in your chosen L/S colours and identify the device.
  3. Stretch (we will go over this in the lesson): in pencil, consider the purpose or effect of the technique - how does it help to engage the reader? What does the reader think/feel about this idea or moment?
