2018-2019
Date Due
Oct. 8, 2018
Additional Info
What is an Inference? Writers don't always come right out and tell us what they mean.
Readers have to INFER, or draw a conclusion, based on clues from the text and what you already know (called background knowledge or schema).
Also known as reading between the lines.
"I infer..." "This could mean..." "I can conclude that..."
Predictions:
Readers have to INFER, or draw a conclusion, based on clues from the text and what you already know (called background knowledge or schema).
Also known as reading between the lines.
"I infer..." "This could mean..." "I can conclude that..."
Predictions:
Predictions are not the same as inferences. Predictions are guesses of what you think will happen next based on clues in the text or pictures.
"I predict/think_____ because_____."
