A prediction is an educated guess what you think is going to happen. An educated guess means you are using clues from the text as well as background knowledge to make your guess.
On your "Making Predictions" worksheet, predict what you think the story will be about based off of only the title ("The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson).

Pause at 0:40 and make your first prediction on your "Making Predictions" sheet. Pause the story again at 6:32 and make a second prediction. Repeat at 9:01 and 3:19.
